Dear Mr Arsene Wenger,
I wanted to write to you to express my huge gratitude for your services to Arsenal over the last 22 years. Thank you for the loyalty, commitment and dedication you have shown Arsenal for such a long period of time. You represented Arsenal in such an honourable way on and off the pitch.
The footballing achievements for Arsenal you have managed are amazing, you are the reason for the best football memories in my and so many others lives. And it goes beyond that because of our love and passion for the club, they are just some of the greatest memories in one’s life in general.
You also exemplified the values of the club by carrying yourself with respect, class, honour, dignity and integrity, these things to me are even more important than the football achievements. You made me so proud to be an Arsenal fan, I couldn’t imagine supporting any other team because of these values you and Arsenal had were perfectly fitting with my own morals, beliefs and character and how I feel a human being should conduct themselves.
It’s impossible to adequately express the love and admiration that I and many others have for you. You are 1 of my heroes, a legend that will never be duplicated or replaced, you are unique. For all these years I have watched every game, every press conference you have made, heard and read when you have spoke, hearing you I felt the excitement of victory and comfort in defeat. After such a long period you feel like you know somebody like a family member, that connection is strong and unbreakable.
I always supported you 100 percent Arsene and my support never wavered, I am so sorry that some fans support did, I can accept critique but the abuse and disrespect at times was something I can’t accept and which always appalled me. But I know as you’ve said, many of the normal decent fans are not always the loudest. Please know that a large number of Arsenal fans always loved, respected and supported you consistently without fail.
You said on the pitch for your last home game you will miss us. Arsene, we will miss you too.
I will miss your charm, sense of humour, wisdom, knowledge, kindness, compassion, so many things.
I will miss how much you love the club, I always felt Arsenal was in safe hands with you (like David) because I knew your love for the club was sincere, I knew you put the interests of Arsenal above even your own.
I admired and respected the loyalty you showed Arsenal when we all know you had other huge offers, but you remained faithful to us. I can’t express enough gratitude to you for that.
You guided us through a difficult time in the club’s history where finances were restricted, where players left, where we were even unlucky at times, but you stayed, working tirelessly every single day for the benefit of the club. We can never repay you back, we can only say Merci Arsene.
I hope 1 day you write your book, and would love it if you came back to Arsenal 1 day in whatever role you wanted. And I do really hope we can see you again at the Emirates soon. Your words and presence means so much to us.
I respect, admire and love you Arsene and I wish you all the success, health and happiness that you deserve in the future, in both your personal and professional life.
Kindest Regards,
Arsenal Passion.
